'Don't Mess with Croydon' is just one of the messages which Croydon Council has incorporated on its fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles.

Each of the 50+ strong fleet has been fitted with a reusable graphics system supplied by Spedian, the specialist vehicle graphics company.

Joanna Dixon, the borough’s environmental services officer, waste & recycling promotions, said: “The use of the Spedian system has been a fantastic way for us to communicate clear messages to local residents. What better way to reach the local population other than by a service which each and every resident receives."

According to Spedian, its system is adaptable to all shapes and sizes of vehicle and is the only patented and tested ‘invisible’ vehicle graphics frame system available with no bolts, rivets, screws or aluminium or plastic frame required to fix the advertising panel to the vehicle.

The specialist vehicle graphics company said its system is totally user-friendly and provides total flexibility. Not only is it reported to be quick and easy to install – less than one hour – it can also be easily removed with no damage to the vehicle substrate. It can also be used with most other systems easily allowing systems to be easily interchanged. Further if required the panels can be de-installed and re-used or simply recycled.

Both Spedian and the more recently launched Spedian SuperLite system, are reported to have both undergone testing at MIRA and as such is guaranteed for the lifetime of the vehicle. Spedian is also maintenance free and its HD product is guaranteed to stay colourfast from 12 months - always staying as clean as the vehicle.

Spedian said it currently provides signage to just under 100 local authorities.
