Grundon Waste Management has been announced as one of the lead sponsors of Thames Hospice’s Bubble Rush event.

The annual event is a 2.5 or 5k route through four ‘bubble stations’ where cannons pump out coloured foam to create large bubble baths.

It raises vital funding for Thames Hospice which provides care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.

Every year it costs £8m to keep the hospice running, with 70% of funding coming from charitable donations.

Grundon will sponsor two bubble stations and runners’ wristbands.

Over 30 Grundon employees and their families have also signed up for the course.

Neil Grundon, deputy chairman of Grundon Waste Management, said: “As a local business we’re passionate about investing in the community around us and we know that Thames Hospice does an amazing job in caring for those individuals and their families who so vitally need its help.

“This event is very close to our hearts and we are thrilled to be lending both our financial support and to be able to cheer the efforts of our runners on the day.”

Berkshire Bubble Rush will take place on 15 September at Berkshire College of Agriculture.

Over £31,000 was raised from last year’s event.
