Magnum launches 'industry-first' tubs made from recycled plastic
Magnum has launched tubs made from recycled plastic packaging in what it claims to be a world’s first for the ice cream industry.
The move is part of parent company Unilever’s wider global commitment to make at least 25% of its plastic packaging from post-consumer recycled content by 2025.
Julien Barraux, vice president of Magnum, said: “[Customers] can now indulge in signature Magnum luxury with the knowledge that they can play a positive role in reducing the impact of plastics on the environment.
“We are proud to be one of the world’s first food brands to pioneer this ground-breaking technology.”
Tubs will be available in Belgium, Netherlands and Spain, with over three million more due to be launched globally in 2020.
