The bars will be able to recycled in regular paper collections

Nestlé has relaunched its YES! snack bars in a recyclable paper wrapper in what it claims to be an industry first.

The bars are packaged in paper using a high-speed flow wrap technology, rather than the plastic films and laminates usually used for similar confectionary products.

The paper is made from sustainable sources and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.

Bars will be available in European countries including Austria, Belgium and the UK.

Patrice Bula, head of strategic business units, marketing and sales at Nestlé, said: “Consumers are looking for more natural and sustainable options when they choose a snack, both in terms of ingredients and packaging.

“Our YES! bars are made with wholesome ingredients that celebrate and care for Nature's diversity. We are now relaunching them carefully wrapped in paper, making the packaging easy to recycle and avoiding plastic waste.”

Flavours include dark chocolate, sea salt and almond, banana and pecan and raspberry and chia seed.
